Position: Operational Manager 1 and 2 – young adult residential The Operational Manager(s) is responsible for overseeing the daily facilitation of the resident programming, while managing and supervising the Substance Abuse Counselors. The House Manager assumes overall responsibility of the facility in the absence of both the Site Director and Clinical coordinator. Mon & Tues off Wed 1-9p Thursday 7:30am-3:30pm Fri & Sat 1p-9p Sun 7:30-3:30p Job Scope: + Provides bi-monthly, individual, agenda driven supervision for Substance Abuse Counselors. + Provides weekly agenda driven group supervision for all Substance Abuse Counselors. + Provide SAC’s with a sense of direction and compelling purpose towards the accomplishment of goals/mission by consistently communicating and supporting employee ownership and involvement in the agency’s strategic plan and priorities. + Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in managerial style. + Directly observes the clinical practice of employees in all formats. + Seek appropriate supervision and consultation from peers and immediate supervisor. + Provide crisis intervention when needed. + Report all clinical emergencies to Unit Director whereby using 24 hour on-call contacts effectively and efficiently. + Participate in reassessment appointments. + Provide assessments, group and family counseling as directed. + In supervision with counselors, coordinate training which supports their development in established long term goals. + Provide 24 hour on call supervision for counselors on duty at the facility. (Operational Manager) + Maintain accurate inventory of monthly MetroCard tally. (Asst. Operational Manager) + Create and monitor monthly staff schedule. + Conduct yearly evaluations and give growth plans for Substance Abuse Counselors. + Approve Learning Experience/Contracts created by counselors in a manner commensurate with their developmental level in this area. + Review the weekly package, facilitate package meeting and coordinate the delivery of the package to the family In-House Meeting. + Adhere to Professional and Ethical Responsibilities as noted in the Outreach Project Policy and Procedure Manual. + Participate in special family events throughout the year at Outreach House I. + Work weekends to provide support to the resident community and to the Substance Abuse Counselors. + Participate in Parent Support Group, as needed. Each role at Outreach has identified production and outcome goals. These goals may be stated as a number or as an outcome within an identified time frame. These goals are intended to provide each job holder the knowledge they need about expected performance. Accomplishments against these goals will be a discussion point in the annual evaluation. Qualifications + Interacting with staff, clients, students and visitors in a courteous, professional and respectful manner that is consistent with the agency’s mission and values. + Producing accurate, neat and thorough work. + Prioritizing and planning work time efficiently; effectively managing competing demands and dealing with changes, delays and unexpected events. + Understanding and consistently complies with agency policy and procedures (including time and attendance, dress code, etc…). + Supporting a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that allows the employee to get along with clients, students, coworkers and supervisors. + Communicating (in writing as well as orally) clearly and concisely + Illustrating flexibility and adaptability in role and function when circumstances warrant; (demonstrates openness to assist in needed responsibilities in evolving situations). + Maintaining appropriate boundaries, ethics and professionalism; complying with agency, OASAS and other professional code(s) of ethics; seeking supervision when challenges arise. + Experience in residential program management, experience working with adolescents and families, experience in addiction treatment settings. + Certificates & Licenses: QHP required (LCSW, LMSW, LMHC, CASAC). Collaborates with: Director Clinical Coordinator Substance Abuse Counselors Department Heads Supervised by: Clinical Coordinator Position Status This is a full-time non-exempt position . Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment and outside in the field. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Must be able to travel among assigned sites and locations as needed.
