Operations Manager

Quality Carriers, Inc. (QC), headquartered in Tampa, FL, is North America's largest bulk liquid chemical carrier. Through a network of more than 100 terminals and facilities, we transport a broad range of chemical products and provide our customers with value-added transportation services. 

As the Operations Manager, your primary responsibility is to oversee the terminals efficiencies in dispatch, customer service, driver hiring and retention, and Standard Operating Procedures.

Essential Functions:

Coordination of daily dispatch function to include, scheduling, tank cleaning, trailer utilization, and service performance. This would also include reviewing and approving Tank Washes daily Review and keep up to date all customer contracts for adequate fuel surcharges, rates on line haul and tank wash charges Ensure all Standard Operating Procedures are being met for all Operations Support functions Ensure all orders are being entered timely and accurately, assets are assigned prior to the beginning of the movement, loads are dispatched via Peoplenet and macros are completed to ensure accurate billing Overall driver management, safety performance, and hiring and retention Ensure all equipment is in compliance (both PM and Annual Inspections) Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned

 

Education

High School Diploma or GED Equivalent, required 2+ Years Terminal experience 2-4 Years Management experience

 

Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities (Competencies)

Understanding of operational procedures of bulk truck terminal Basic computer knowledge Leadership abilities Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational and time management skills

 

Supervisory Responsibility: Management of dispatchers and clerical staff

 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position, and days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.
