Operations Manager

The Operations Manager assists the General Manager in total branch performance in accordance with company policy and procedures. The Operations Manager will execute the branch business plan, work toward branch profitability and help manage and develop branch personnel. The Operations Manager will work toward continuous improvement and personal growth while being a leader through example of company core values, mission and vision. Essential Functions + Monitor and interact with directing warehouse, operations, vendor managed inventory, sales and quality teams + Work with and proactively communicate with branch teams to solve specific challenges and leverage growth opportunities + Coordinate and assist with all outside sales efforts + Manage workflow and assist all departments in prioritizing and balancing priorities, providing backup support if needed and ensuring that all work is accomplished with an appropriate sense of urgency + Help maintain accurate branch inventory via cycle count process + Assist General Manager in anticipating staffing requirements to meet operational needs, financial management metrics and all customer metrics. + Point person for weekly timecard corrections to ensure timecards are accurate for payroll + Work with General Manager on employee schedules and approval of paid time off requests + Prepare daily reports for branch in conjunction with General Manager for stated goals and objectives + Ensure all requests for quotes are tracked for response time, completeness, win/loss reason and rates + Understand and assist in implementing concepts such as; continuous improvement process, six sigma disciplines, and 5S (Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities + The Operations Manager must possess a positive attitude and excellent communication skills that will allow for constant interaction with a full cross section of Thruway Customers, Vendors and staff. + Competency of hiring, developing and evaluating employees to achieve corporate objectives + Knowledge of Profit and Loss + Strong leadership, motivation and managerial skills (hold others accountable) + Excellent judgment and quick decision-making ability + Excellent problem-solving and analytical ability + Superior organizational skills + Demonstrated integrity and ethical standards + Self-motivated, effective time management, and adapts quickly to changing priorities + Accuracy and attention to detail + Developing competency managing inventory, including auditing, forecasting and planning + Strong project management and multi-tasking skills + Excellent written, listening, verbal and interpersonal communication skills + Technical expertise and knowledge of company products WORK ENVIRONMENT + Occasional travel to suppliers and training + Multi-tasking fast paced environment + Sitting 80% of time, standing and movement 20% of time Thruway Fasteners offers a comprehensive benefit program for eligible employees including; medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability plans, accident protection, critical illness, legal shield/ID shield plans, Paid Time Off, Paid Holidays, and 401k retirement plan with employer match.
