The Operations Manager provides leadership and oversight for electric power distribution construction and maintenance projects. This role manages field operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, within budget, and on schedule. The Operations Manager interacts with customers, senior leadership, and internal departments, and has P&L responsibility for the assigned Operations Center and its fleet assets. **Job Summary** The Operations Manager provides leadership and oversight for electric power distribution construction and maintenance projects. This role manages field operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, within budget, and on schedule. The Operations Manager interacts with customers, senior leadership, and internal departments, and has P&L responsibility for the assigned Operations Center and its fleet assets. Responsibilities + Oversee all aspects of electric power distribution construction and maintenance projects, ensuring safety, adherence to design specifications, budget compliance, and timely completion. + Manage the P&L for the assigned Operations Center, including fleet asset management. + Build and maintain strong relationships with field managers, clients, subcontractors, and owners to ensure customer satisfaction. + Plan, coordinate, and supervise the activities of all operations employees on assigned projects. + Regularly update and communicate project schedules, including weekly updates and site visits. + Proactively address and resolve construction challenges, including dispute resolution. + Collaborate with the Office Manager to ensure timely and accurate internal reporting. + Prepare and submit weekly revenue and cost reports, as well as weekly invoices. + Manage accounts receivable, resolving outstanding invoices over 51 days. + Ensure compliance with all company, client, and project policies, procedures, and standards. + Stay current on industry best practices, processes, and standards, and their impact on project activities. + Assist with the implementation and interpretation of safety programs. + Collaborate with the estimating team to ensure projects align with cost, revenue, and schedule targets. + Review estimates for completeness and accuracy, including materials, equipment, production costs, performance requirements, and delivery schedules. + Prepare project status reports, modify schedules as needed, and provide reports to management, clients, and other stakeholders, including cost-to-complete estimates and variance analysis. + Analyze projects for budget adherence and profitability. + Directly supervise 3-6 supervisors or general foremen, including responsibilities for training, work assignment, performance appraisal, employee relations, and disciplinary actions. + Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications **Minimum** + Bachelor’s degree in construction science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). + 5 years of experience in electric power distribution. + Previous supervisory experience. + Ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. + Strong written and verbal communication skills. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. + Strong organizational and business management skills. + Ability to perform calculations related to project management (e.g., proportions, percentages, area, volume). + Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions in various formats. **Preferred Qualifications:** + 8+ years of related experience, with significant supervisory experience. + Combination of education, technical training, and experience. + OSHA 10 Certification. **Physical Demands and Work Environment** This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, and scanners. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. This position is primarily sedentary, with some filing or lifting required.
