Job Description
We specialize in infection prevention solutions, particularly in the healthcare sector, known for our innovative technologies aimed at preventing the transmission of infections. The Operations Manager will support our Indianapolis service center and manufacturing. This role involves overseeing the service and repair of electronic hospital devices and the production of the products used within those devices. The facility includes a clean room for manufacturing, a lab, and a service center. The manager will work closely with the VP of Operations and the Logistics Supervisor on resource planning and production. They will provide lean manufacturing continuous improvement support while managing a small team of engineers and technicians. This role is part of the succession planning to become the VP of Operations.
ResponsibilitiesOversee daily manufacturing operations to ensure productivity and efficiencyDevelop and implement strategies to improve manufacturing processes and reduce costsMonitor production schedules and adjust as necessary to meet customer demandsLead, mentor, and develop the manufacturing and warehouse team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvementManage inbound and outbound logistics, including receiving, storing, and shipping productsCoordinate with transportation providers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of productsEnsure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standardsAnalyze production data and generate reports for senior managementCoordinate with other departments, including supply chain, quality assurance, and engineering, to ensure smooth operationsImplement lean manufacturing principles and drive initiatives to minimize wasteManage budgets and allocate resources effectivelyIdentify training needs and facilitate professional development for team membersEssential SkillsBachelor's degree in engineering or related field3+ years of experience in medical device manufacturing5+ years of experience in an operations or manufacturing leadership role that includes managing teams, production scheduling, and resource planningStrong experience with lean manufacturing principles (Six Sigma Certification preferred)Experience in manufacturing processes, program management, time studies, project management, supervision, Kaizen, continuous improvement, process improvement, lean principles, lean manufacturing, lean Six Sigma, Green Belt, process engineering, Six Sigma, and manufacturing engineeringAdditional Skills & QualificationsSix Sigma Certification PreferredWork Environment
Onsite manufacturing environment with a mix of office, manufacturing, and clean room settings. Opportunities to travel to the headquarters in Australia. The role involves managing and leading a new site while contributing ideas for its growth.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $57.00 - $70.00/hr.
