What will you do in this job?Responsible for assisting the General Manager of the lodge with management and daily operation of all the Denali Cabins facilities, including efficient operation of housekeeping, food and beverage operations and gift shop operations. Responsible for scheduling, training, coaching and disciplining the guest service agents and submitting time sheets weekly. Responsible for safe and efficient food and beverage operations; training of all food and beverage department personnel and labor cost control, and producing a consistently high quality dining experience according to lodge standards. Attend staff meetings, safety briefings daily;
Major Activities (Typical Duties/Responsibilities):
Provide excellent guest service to guests and other team membersMake sound judgments and anticipate issues and opportunitiesHandle comments, complaints and concerns with high level of efficiency in the best interest of the guestWork closely with all other departments to ensure overall guest satisfactionEnsure that guests’ special needs are metGreet arriving/departing guests in a professional and pleasant mannerBe knowledgeable of daily functions or activities occurring at the Lodge and in area in order to answer guests’ questionsEnsuring the safety and security of all guests and employees while at Denali CabinsMeeting or exceeding industry and Company standards of guest service and product qualityCompliance with concessionaire user agreement and other federal/state regulationsResponding to customer comments, complaints and concerns to determine that guest expectations are metEnsuring facilities meet or exceed legal, industry and Company standards for cleanliness and maintenance of facilities, such as:daily, weekly and ongoing cleaning in and around facilitiescompliance with DEC regulations relating to cleaning and sanitizing guidelines for kitchen, dining room and food storage areas, such as refrigerator, freezer and cooler spaceMaintaining adequate daily and ongoing inventory of all lodging supplies, food and dry goods.Coordinating and managing duties associated with start-up and shut down of Denali Cabins.Responsible for assisting in effective and efficient training, supervision and performance of Denali Cabins staff:Trains seasonal staff in following company policy.Assists in the start and end-of-season duties in relation to all Denali Cabins facilities.Develops and manages daily staff schedules and duty rosters.Staff training to ensure customer service principles are consistently applied to achieve and exceed overall guest satisfaction.Responsible for submitting accurate timesheets of all customer service agents and customer service agent supervisors; reviews and approves staff timesheets.Ensures all cash is secured, deposits are made on a regular basis, and submitted to Denali Cabins accounting in a timely mannerParticipates in monitoring the operational and labor budgetEnsures the food and beverage product served is of consistently high quality and is delivered to the guest in a timely mannerParticipate in emergency response activities including firefighting, emergency medical activities (within an employee’s training limitations) and other incidentsArrive to work on time, ready to work, dressed in clean uniform, with a neat and clean appearanceAssist with Flight Coordination between Denali Cabins and Denali Backcountry LodgeCoordinate and assist the General Manager and Chef in ordering, special events, scheduling, staffing and safety training in order to foster exceptional teamwork and improve the guest experienceOther duties as assigned What skills and experience do you need for this job?Skills + Abilities:
Current CPR and 1st Aid CertificationTraining for Alcohol Professionals, TAPSWorking knowledge of food, beverage, and hospitality services and operationsWorking knowledge of safety standards in the hotel industryStrong supervisory / leadership skills with ability to effectively train, manage and lead staffGood judgment in making sound decisions and effectively solving problemsWork independently, in a team environment, and with minimal supervisionExcellent interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff, affiliated-company employees as well as outside business associates; exhibits a professional manner in dealing with othersExcellent time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and work effectively under pressureStrong communication skills, both oral and written; ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedures manuals; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from staff, managers and the general publicIn-depth knowledge of Company policies, procedures and employee programsKnowledge of KFT products and KFT operations, including details regarding boat tours and transportation operationsProficient using industry-standard computer software and databasesWork extended hours, various shifts, and on holidays and weekendsLive in close quarters with others in a remote wilderness settingMinimum Qualifications:
