Operations Manager (LACC FT)

Job Summary:  Briefly describe the major purpose or objective of the job.

The Operations manager supervise and carries out the day-to-day maintenance repairs, evaluate facility needs, identify concerns, and design action plans for safe environment. Ensures that the Center is compliant with current building codes, applicable federal/state/local regulations, functional precedents, practices, and policies. Oversees permit compliance, application, and renewals for items related to building maintenance. This includes, but is not limited to, backflow preventers, sewer/storm drains and grease traps. Develop operating procedures and best practices within the area of day-to-day responsibilities e.g., plumbing, electricians, maintenance & construction, carpenters, and the paint divisions, which conform to ASM Global corporate standards, customized to the specific needs of the venue and consistent with the goals and objectives of the building superintendent.

Essential Duties:  Essential duties are those basic duties that must be performed to carry out the purpose of the job and that involve at least 5% of the total work time over the course of a year.  (The % of Time allocation must total 100%.)

1.Supervise, coach, train, and develop personnel within the areas of setup, trades, mechanics, and building engineering departments holding the team accountable both as a team and as individual team members customized to the specific needs of the venue and consistent with the goals and objectives of the Building Superintendent.

Maintains close, open, and productive communication channels with all trade personnel to ensure successful operations and customer satisfaction. Assigns duties and supervises the progress and labor used day to day including special projects.

2. Maintains daily and weekly status reports including special project updates that shall be provided to the Building Superintendent. Conduct daily tailgate meetings, e.g., safety awareness, balance workload, Micro Main activities, project deadlines, including the urgency of department communication. Ensure that staff has balanced workload and completes work orders in a timely manner.

3. Observe and exercise all company communication, safety awareness, policies, and procedures: Personal Protection Equipment, Lifting Guidelines, Equipment Safety Guidelines, Lock Out/Tag Out, Department Policies.

4. Executes, with minimal direction and supervision, administrative duties at the highest level, including managing time-critical, sensitive, and/or confidential information. Ensure that the SOS program and Cal/OSHA regulations are properly administered and maintained within maintenance departments.

5. Assist the department in the preparation of annual operating budgets and capital budgets with effective recommendation of improvement.

Conduct daily inspections and preventive maintenance schedules in the Micro Main system and track completion. Responsible for data input on all levels including oversight of administrative functions within the system.

6. Attends all pre-con meetings, WERM meetings, Safety Meetings, operations meetings, and any other meeting assigned. Provide administration support and leadership for the emergency response team. Assists the Building Superintendent in the development and implementation of safe and efficient workplace procedures.

7. Assists with compliance for Energy Star, Sustainability Programs, Quality Assurance Programs, and Disaster Programs. Performs other duties as assigned by the Building Superintendent.

8. Recommend to the building superintendent personnel actions, such as training, promotions, transfers, discharges, and or disciplinary measures.

9. Other duties and building projects as assigned by VP Operations, Building Superintendent, or their designee.

Required Qualifications (Job Knowledge, Skills, and Education):

Bachelor's degree (B.A./ B.S.) in Business, Recreational Management; /or training; or equivalent combination of education and experienceMinimum of five (5) years related experience In Building Trades and Operations or equivalent in the industry.Operate a personal computer using Windows and Microsoft Office software required.Read and comprehend floorplans, blueprints, drawings, and other related materials required.Minimum of five (5) years of full-time work-related experience in the public assembly or hospitality industry (high-rise hotels, stadiums, arenas, and/or convention centers).Three (3) to five (5) years related experience in a supervisory or management position; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays will be required.Valid California Drives License required.Must be able to use good judgment and common sense, to make logical, cost effective and sometimes critical decisions while working under high pressure situations and within strict deadlines relating to equipment operations and safety.Must have reliable transportation.Required variable work schedule such as late hours, early mornings, extended hours, holidays, and weekends

While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is exposed to large public/private gatherings indoors/outdoors. Team Member will be exposed to outside weather conditions. Team Member must comply with all Federal, State and Local regulations and published Company work rules as well as written instructions. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate in office setting and moderate to high during events and around loud machinery.

Pay Rate: $85,000 - $95,000 Annual Salaried/Exempt.
