Operations Manager - M3

The Role:

The purpose of this role is to drive profit and manage loss by securing the market for the Division Rock Tools through the product strategy offering and further maintain, protect, increase the market share for Rock Tools and deliver productivity improvements on customer sites.

Key Responsibilities:

Participate in the formulation of the divisional strategy in line with company strategy.Develop sales area (Rock Tools) strategy aligned to the divisional strategy for submission to the Business Line Manager Rock ToolsCreate and maintain a vital link between the customer and Sandvik at strategic decision-making level for allocated customer sites within the geographic areaManage profit and loss by ensuring that revenue and profitability targets are set for the various customer sites, monitored and remediated where necessaryBuild and maintain good customer relationships.Foster business growth on existing customer sitesManage and mitigate business risk for the allocated geographic areaConduct market and competitor analysis to develop deep understanding of customers business, operations, and processes.Revise and understand customer contract terms and conditions and ensure these are in place.Collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver quality and value to the customer.Manage the area of responsibility pricing initiatives.Produce rock tools rolling forecast and monthly budget.Provide an Obsolete Slow-Moving Inventory (OSMI) plan for managing existing stock levels.Oversee compliance to safety of your team within the allocated geographic area per customer siteContinuously seek to improve existing customer relations.Manage sound employee relations in accordance with People policies and procedures.

Your Profile:

Grade 12 / Equivalent qualificationBusiness Management or Financial degreeDegree in Mining Engineering or Mechanical/Electrical Engineering (NQF Level 7), Certificate of competence (Mine Manager or Government Certificate of Competency Engineering), MBA/MBL (advantageous)At least 5 years Rock Tools Contract Management experience, of which 3 years must be at Senior Management level.Willingness to travelEnglish proficiencyComputer literacyPhysically and medically fit to work in a mining environment.Valid drivers’ license
