Operations Manager - Days

Monday - Friday TBD 7:00am - 5:00pm

The annual salary for this position is $133,800 to $209,000.

Sign On Bonus - $2,000

This highly visible position is located at our Vancouver, WA facility.

What you’ll do:

This position will be responsible for providing overall supervision and management of the production and distribution center (DC) operations in a lean manufacturing, packaging, and warehouse environment. Using strategic methodology, this position contributes to the systematic and profitable operation of production and DC operations.

Essential Functions:

Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), company policies, safety policies and practices, quality standards, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).Responsible at all times for ensuring that tasks are performed according to food safety, quality, and regulatory guidelines.  Promote a safety culture and awareness within their area of responsibility by supporting all plant safety policies and procedures at all times.Manage daily operations by providing leadership, focus, and direction to the team. Manage production and warehouse deliverables. Manage industrialization and successful launches for all new programs. Participate in and lead daily production meetings. Maximize efficiency through the design and implementation of improved manufacturing strategies and allocate assets and resources to meet quality, safety, cost, delivery, volume, and productivity goals. Develop and implement best practices in production activities, including effective equipment automating trends, lean manufacturing processes, etc.Review production schedules and finished product orders to monitor direct reports decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing requirements, work procedures, and duty assignments, considering quality and safety compliance, budgetary limitations, and time constraints.Establish performance metrics and benchmarks; collect and report results.Develop budgets and approve expenditures for materials and supplies while ensuring that materials, labor, and equipment are used efficiently to meet production targets.Coordinate staff training and development by identifying and assisting employees with setting and attaining professional and strategic goals. Demonstrate excellent communication skills at all levels of the organization.Lead the implementation of a Six Sigma approach to problem solving methodology. Establish and support a work environment of continuous improvement. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, local, and corporate policies, laws, and regulations.Perform additional duties and projects as needed.

What you’ll need:

Bachelor’s degree in operations, engineering, or related technical field required.Advanced technical or business administration degree helpful. Eight (8) plus years’ experience in operations manufacturing management in a food related industry, or a combination of education and experience that is likely to provide the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to perform the job. Ability to demonstrate a record of successful goal setting, achievement, employee engagement, and management.Strategic planning skills with qualitative solutions and quantifiable results.Proactive, strategic thinker with a record of contributing to the systematic and profitable operation of production operations. Ability to demonstrate success in providing strategic direction in a rapidly growing organization.Ability to demonstrate managing, motivating, and leading a diverse workforce to achieve objectives. Excellent communication and organizational skills.Knowledge of lean manufacturing.Ability to operate a computer in a Windows-based environment and ability to use most office equipment.Proficiency in Office Suite products and enterprise level systems such as SAP.
