Overview As an operations manager, you would be responsible for the day to day operations of the hotel, including managing staff, customer satisfaction and quality standards. The Operations Manager will oversee many departments, including Food and Beverage, Front Office, and Housekeeping. Their goal is to ensure that guests have an excellent experience and that the hotel runs smoothly. To ensure the Housekeeping Department cleans and maintains guest rooms and public space in accordance with client/guest expectations and HEI Standards of Product and Service. Assist the Assistant Front Office Managers in managing the Front Office operations to achieve customer satisfaction, quality service and compliance with corporate/franchise policies and procedures while meeting/exceeding financial goals. Plan and manage the Restaurant, Room Service and other food and beverage outlets as appropriate in order to achieve customer satisfaction, quality service, compliance with corporate/franchise policies and procedures and federal, state and local regulations while meeting/exceeding financial goals. Responsibilities + Oversees staff of room attendants, house persons, and inspectors by conducting daily and monthly meetings, inspecting staff work and giving guidance so that deficiencies are corrected and standards are met. + Interview, hire, train, recommend performance evaluations, resolve problems, provide open communication and recommend discipline when appropriate. + Arrange staff work schedules, determining days off, insuring staffing levels are based on occupancy and/or any current or anticipated projects. Submits payroll records, correcting errors to insure pay is on time and includes any purchased rooms, extra cleanup, cots, etc. + Maintain and reviews computerized records for budgeting and forecasting of department expenses as well as inspection scores for housekeepers. + Communicate both verbally and in writing to provide clear direction to staff. + Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis. + Manage day to day operations for all restaurant outlets, room service, culinary. Stewarding, beverage, banquet, and purchasing operations. + Control and manage all areas of cost management including cost of food, beverage, salaries and wages, and other expenses. + Plan and manage the procurement, production, preparation and presentation of all food and beverages in the hotel in a safe, sanitary, and cost effective manner. + Manage the Human Resources within the division. Direct and oversee recruitment and development of associates; interview, hire, train, empower, coach and counsel, performance and salary reviews, resolve conflict through fair treatment policy, discipline and terminate as appropriate. + Implement and manage all company programs to ensure compliance with the SOPs and LSOPs; to include safety and sanitary regulation, all federal, state, franchise, and local regulations to ensure optimal levels of quality service and hospitality are provided to the guest. + Market the Food and Beverage outlets; develop and manage the implementation of menus, package deals, promotions, displays, decorations and presentations within corporate guidelines to capture more in house guests and a larger share of the local market to meet/exceed sales and financial goals and objectives. + Develop, implement and manage the department's business/marketing plan and budget; continually analyze, forecast, monitor and control the labor and food costs through various methods to meet/exceed management/budget objectives. + Develop and implement menus and back-up (use records, production lists, pars, training, etc...) within corporate guidelines to continually improve revenues and profit margins while maintaining quality. + Manage the maintenance/sanitation of the Food and Beverage areas and equipment in the hotel to protect the assets, comply with regulations and ensure quality service. + Respond to customer trends, needs, issues, comments and problems to ensure a quality experience and enhance future sales prospects. + Execute and promote the Accident Prevention Program to minimize liabilities and related expenses. + Ensure efficient guest registration, checkout, guest service, and telephone service, while ensuring all brand standards are being applied. + Implement company and franchise programs. + Prepare forecasts and reports and assist in the development of the Rooms Division budget. + Monitor and maintain the front office systems and equipment to ensure their optimum performance. + Track guest satisfaction surveys and maximize usage of the guest response tracking system. + Provide training for entry level associates and supervisors. + Develop and implement controls for expense management. + Utilize labor management tools to schedule and control labor costs. + Interview, hire, train, develop, resolve problems, provide open communication and recommend discipline and/or termination when appropriate of staff members. Ensure timely completion of performance appraisals. + Communicate both verbally and in writing to provide clear direction to staff. + Interact positively with customers and take action to resolve problems to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and quality. + Ensure compliance of front office, guest service, and PBX standard operating procedures and policies. Ensure all Front Office Quality Standards are complied with and are consistently applied. + Coordinate activities with other hotel departments in order to facilitate increased levels of communication and guest satisfaction. + Assist in the daily maintenance of room inventory status to achieve optimal levels of revenues while maintaining high levels of guest expectations. + Maintain all front desk related equipment and a par stock of supplies. + Resolve customer complaints; anticipate potential problems by reviewing and monitoring complaints, operational issues, business flow and associate performance to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and quality. + Develop strong relations with the sales team to discuss and implement sales strategies to continually improve occupancy levels and revenues. + Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis. + Perform any other job related duties as assigned. Qualifications + 2 years of housekeeping experience, preferably in a comparable hotel. + Knowledge of hotel operations, including marketing plans, security and safety programs, personnel and labor relations, preparation of business plans, repairs, maintenance, budget forecasting, quality assurance programs, hospitality law, and long-range planning. + Leadership skills to motivate and develop staff and to ensure accomplishment of goals. Able to set priorities, plan, organize, and delegate. + Written communication skills to be concise, well organized, complete, and clear. + Ability to work effectively under time constraints and deadlines. + Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences, such as effectively communicating with supervisors, coworkers, public etc. This position is TEMPORARY, needed due to HIGH OCCUPANCY SEASON.
