Operations Manager - Ventrac

Reporting to the Operations Senior Manager, assures that the location operations team is effectively managed toward the goal of producing the highest quality products in a safe and timely manner at a competitive cost, while maintaining strong employee/customer relations and optimizing inventory turns. Supports development of long- and short-range plans that are aligned with division/corporate strategies. Promotes and utilizes LEAN principles as the basis for deployment. 


Job Duties & Responsibilities: 
•    Ensures the safe operation of all departments by working with the Safety and Security Manager as well as managers and supervisors
•    Plans, organizes, and directs production and administrative, activities to meet or exceed established production goals in a cost-effective manner
•    Fosters a work environment that values employees, serves our customers and provides a fair return to owner
•    Assures excellent housekeeping, productivity and work habits are maintained.
•    Manages the timely production and assures a superior level of customer service
•    Meets with and communicates with other areas of the plant, divisions, and company to assure resource optimization toward achievement of overall goals
•    Ensures the efficient handling and control of W.I.P. inventory
•    Recommends and implements continuous improvement opportunities to stay competitive in all areas of quality, cost, product availability, inventory control, customer service and employee relations
•    Communicates effectively at all levels in the organization to keep manufacturing on track with corporate/division objectives.
•    Leads the operation in applying Toro Business Systems (TBS) and Daily Management System to report the Tier Board 3/4 Metrics
•    Leads manufacturing in applying the principles of “Lean Manufacturing” in the work place
•    Coordinates with managers and supervisors to establish production and quality control standards
•    Performs other related duties as assigned by management
Job Qualifications: 
•    Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical or industrial engineering or equivalent technical/professional training
•    A minimum of 5 years’ experience in various manufacturing disciplines
•    Demonstrated proficiency in leading and motivating others
•    Strong written and oral communications skills
•    Basic competence in subordinates’ duties and tasks
•    Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
•    Ability to manage priorities and workflow
•    Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees
•    Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
•    Strong interpersonal skills 
•    Good understanding of materials, engineering, human resources, quality and accounting and how they relate to each other

Other Job-Related Components: 
•    Typical office environment as it pertains to lighting, temperature, and noise level when in administrative/operations offices
•    Production / manufacturing setting with moving equipment, increased noise level, extreme variance in temperature
•    Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and mouse, and to handle other computer components.
•    Ability to travel up to 10%
