Operations Manager VNY
To provide the highest level of VIP customer service to passengers, crews and guests at all times. To manage the Operations Department, delivering all associated services; ensuring all services are provided to our customers in a safe and professional manner. On time performance and safety is the team’s number one priority. Proactively deliver strong leadership to the Operations department, ensuring accountability amongst all team members, driving employee engagement initiatives and individual empowerment, with a strong focus on improvement. · Lead the Morning Management Meetings (MMM) to ensure the smooth running of the FBO on a day-to-day basis, setting the climate for change and communicating the Daily Shift Brief to other departmental Managers. · Track and monitor the commercial performance of the operation and benchmark data trends against local competitors. · Ensure all staff are compliant with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), Signature’s Business Code of Ethics and Health and Safety legislation in line with business requirements. · Attend regular meetings with LLA and other control authorities to ensure Signature remains compliant with all airport policies and regulations. · Effective liaison with team members within the Finance department to track control of cash flow through weekly monitoring of debtors. · Ensure customers payments for monies owed are received by the Company within the agreed timescales. · Drive regular interaction with customers and external service suppliers to obtain feedback with the purpose of continually improving and raising the standards of service to exceed customer expectations. · Ensure the volume of traffic handled through the FBO does not exceed health & safety, local airport and/or Signature Flight Support guidelines. · Work closely with the General Manager on all aspects of operational development. · Full line-management responsibility for direct reports including all Operations Supervisors including responsibility for their coaching and development. · Oversight of the day-to-day management of the Operations team via the Supervisors including recruitment, training, sickness absence management and performance management. · Ownership for annual initiatives such as performance appraisal, succession planning, salary review process and talent review in collaboration with HR. · Proactive in creating a “one team” culture that is productive, professional, respectful and fun in order to achieve the best from the team. · Ensure the Operations team are informed of operational objectives and both local and wider Company strategy. · Submit Near Miss & Hazard reports and report any incidents, providing reports as required. · Ensure excellent Health and Safety performance is attained at all times according to internal policy to achieve Zero incidents and accidents. · Work positively and support Health and Safety department in creating a positive safety culture. · Good working knowledge of the Company Safety Management System and responsibility for creating a positive Safety culture. · Knowledge of SHEBBA system for reporting of hazards, observations and incidents. · Investigate all incidents thoroughly & consistently so the network may all learn from them, including updating SHEBBA with findings and root cause analysis within the allotted directed timescales. The above list is not exhaustive, and employees may, at any time, be required to complete other duties reasonably expected · Previous experience of working within an aviation Operations team is essential. · Excellent customer service skills, a high attention to detail and a results orientated focus. · Familiarity with IT systems such as Flight Planner, AMOS, Signet, FBO is essential. · Previous management experience including all aspects of line management including recruitment, employee relations, performance improvement/capability and absence management is highly desirable. · Demonstrable leadership skills including making difficult decisions, driving performance and dealing with all manner of staffing and operational challenges are highly desirable. · A record of maximizing performance in teams is highly desirable. · A strong understanding and passion for general aviation and airport procedures. · Strong organisation skills and ability to work under pressure in an extremely busy operational environment. · An effective communication style tailored for your audience. · A highly motivated outlook which is positive a demonstrates integrity at all times. · The ability to challenge the status quo with a view to continually evolving to better ways of working. · A full clean driving license. · IT proficient and technically able. · Flexibility and a willingness to perform reasonable tasks as assigned as such covering shifts which may involve working different hours. · The flexibility to travel both in the UK and occasionally internationally would be highly advantageous. Pay ranges vary based on multiple factors including, without limitation, skill sets, education, shift worked, responsibilities, seniority, geographical market, merit, output, productivity, prior training or experience, and travel.
