Job Description

$30.28 after one year

The Press Operator efficiently operates, calibrates and maintains an Indigo HP 25000 to ensure excellent quality, machine uptime and that customer expectations are exceeded. Responsible for supplying printed rolls of film (PE, BOPP, PET and other polymer based substrates) to lamination department. Responsible for machine upkeep, cleanliness and maintenance during break/fix with Lead Operator or HP Technical Support team’s assistance.

Responsibilities:

Acts as a safety leader and puts safety first in all responsibilities. Follow all plant-wide, department-wide environmental and safety rules. Regularly calibrates press via color calibration to ensure excellent print qualityEfficiently sets up machine to maximize uptimeConfirms job specifications based on job ticket prior to printing Performs daily and weekly maintenance on pressNotifies Lead Press Operator when equipment needs repairOpens service calls with HP Technical Team as necessaryLoads rolls of material onto pressMonitors print quality while machine is in productionInputs production, consumption, and waste data into Microsoft NAV (ERP)Keeps pressroom clean and organizedSupport other parts of the operations including pouch, slitting, and laminationCommunicates with Prepress and Converting department when necessaryAll other duties as assigned by supervisor or management

Knowledge:

Working knowledge of HP Indigo presses (HP 25000 experience a plus)Computer literacyMathematical knowledgeAbility to read a rulerMechanical skills1-3 years in production field related to digital printing preferredHP Operator 1 training desired
