Raytheon is seeking an Operations Quality Engineer (OQE) II to provide support to our factories at Rita Road in Tucson, Arizona. The OQE works with the production team to analyze product defect data and partner with various other engineering disciplines to provide corrective actions to prevent re-occurrence of these defects.  It very important that this OQE is proficient at leading a team or being part of one that provides resolution to the product defects.

 

What You Will Do

Plan, coordinate, and conduct problem solving teams to reduce product defectsProvide Subject Matter Expertise (SME) input regarding the application of the Quality Management System (QMS)Work within the Manufacturing Engineering team to assure quality characteristics are designed into production planningUse proactive application of quality tools to drive zero-defect performanceDetermine and establish inspection planningPerform production process auditsCoordinate with Supply Chain Management and Supplier Quality regarding the tracking of supplier issues/certificationsFacilitate corrective actions, closed loop process controls and continuous improvement methodsCreate charts for tracking and reporting quality data product/process predictability and capabilityPerform product/material inspections (Peer Review, FAI, Prove-in, Test witness)Perform management/control of nonconforming materialWork with the operations/production teams in the analysis and path forward for defective material

 

What You Will Learn

How to use and follow our Raytheon Quality Management System. This knowledge will be useful in any engineering position at Raytheon. Have the opportunity to train and become a Certified Quality Engineer (CQE).  This is an external certification that you can have within or outside of Raytheon.

 

Qualifications You Must Have  

Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 2 years of prior engineering experienceIn lieu of a degree, a minimum of 6 years of engineering support experience is requiredExperience reviewing schematic drawings as part of the assembly processExperience using quality tools (e.g. Pareto analysis, cause/effect diagrams, process mapping)The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Interim Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

 

Qualifications We Prefer

Experience in creating and performing holistic containment plans following a noncompliance event (Escape)Experience interfacing with customers or customer representatives to support business needsAbility to understand drawings, work instructions, Bill of Materials (BOMs), consumable materials control, process disciplines and tool controlWorking knowledge with Advanced Product Quality Planning tools (e.g. PFMEA, Control Plans, Capability Studies, Statistical Process Control, Measurement System Analysis)

The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
