Notice of Result letters will not be sent to applicants who respond to this flyer. Responsibilities You will conduct data collection, research and analysis. You will build quantitative models to predict the future cost of complex defense weapon systems. You will perform analysis to help Navy leadership make informative decisions concerning cost, budget, and schedule over the life cycle of Navy programs. You will comply with Department of Defense and Department of the Navy weapons system acquisition policies and cost analysis policies. You will lead cost analysis for program office teams. You will convert mathematical analytical findings into well-articulated, concise written products and complete detailed documentation of analytical data and methods. You will deliver oral and written presentations of findings, defending your analysis. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience applying quantitative data methods; conducting data-centric analysis of the design, production and operations costs of major engineering products and processes; analyzing data to evaluate risks and statistical uncertainty for product development, production, and business operations; and creating analytical models, equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-13 or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate performing duties such as: 1) Leading and developing acquisition program life cycle cost estimates; 2) Providing contract cost evaluations; and 3) Providing Integrated Program Management (IPM) cost and schedule analysis. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess: Degree: in operations research; or at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus. Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Several vacancies may be filled.
