Responsibilities You will work with the military customers of these studies to help translate their questions and problems into analytically tractable study issues. You will ensure that results are presented to decision-makers in a balanced, clear, meaningful manner, free from bias. You will plan, coordinate, and lead meetings, conferences, and in progress reviews attended by diverse organizations both inside and outside of the Marine Corps which are associated with studios being performed. You document research in well-written analytical reports and briefings and present results of research to subject matter experts as well as key decision-makers. You will apply knowledge of methods of scientific inquiry, operational analysis and applied mathematics to military defense questions and problems. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications GS-14: In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: identifying, developing and integrating pertinent information through various data collection/analysis procedures and technologies; anticipating major problems; and recognizing future needs. GS-13: In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Education Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess. A bachelor's or higher degree in operations research. OR Successfully completed a bachelor's or higher degree with at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics and at least 3 of the 24 semester hours are in calculus.
