Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering, statistics, mathematics or related field required. MBA or other related advanced degree preferred. 5-7 years’ experience required. Experience in operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, or data modeling. Basic knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning and resource allocation. Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, attention to detail and interpersonal skills. Basic ability to work independently and manage one’s time. Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as Operations Management/Research, computer science, computer engineering, statistics, mathematics or related field required. MBA or other related advanced degree preferred. Proficiency in operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, or data modeling is required. Proficiency in designing, building and deploying optimization models is required. Proficiency working with relational databases and SQL is required. Experience with programming, most notably Python or R, is preferred. Experience with Tableau is preferred.Job Responsibilities:
Formulate mathematical or simulation models of problems, relating constants and variables, restrictions, alternatives, conflicting objectives and their numerical parameters. Analyze information obtained from management to conceptualize and define operational problems. Perform validation and testing of models to ensure adequacy and reformulate models as necessary. Define data requirements and gather and validate information, applying judgment and statistical tests. As the Operations Research SME, the analyst will utilize their experience with optimization modeling to integrate a solver solution into the WPM Staff model. The analyst will research the current business problem, provide recommendations on external vs internally built optimization software, and then will design, build, and deploy a solution that optimizes staff headcount based on the operating model constraints for each the seventeen staff models WPM maintains. Will utilize their experience with statistical modeling and work with the WPM Analytics and Insights team to build forecasting models for staff model variables like volume, handle time, attrition, and shrinkage. Will develop statistical tests to understand operating capabilities and provide outlier detection for the staff models WPM maintains. Will integrate all data collected and created into WPM's central repository, and will help design the database solution to store all the data points created from the models. Will integrate all reporting from the optimization model outputs into WPM's Tableau dashboard for performance monitoring and troubleshooting.
