The successful candidate will have experience with treatment plant processes and operations, start-up, validation testing, and training operations and maintenance personnel. This position will require being at a client site in the Virginia area and possibly other locations. As a member of our Infrastructure Services Group, you could contribute to CDM Smith's mission by: - Developing standard operations/maintenance procedures and O&M manuals. - Developing lesson plans on equipment and process operations and maintenance. - Participating in the collection and analysis of operations and maintenance data and equipment condition assessments. - Communicating and meeting with clients, subcontractors, and contractors. - Assisting in the development of equipment and system commissioning plans. - Monitoring project budgets and schedules, and instituting project cost control measures. - Performing administrative duties, including coordinating meetings with clients, preparing meeting summaries. - Assisting in preparation of proposals and other business development efforts. **Job Title:** Operations Specialist 6 **Group:** ISF **Employment Type:** Intermittent **Minimum Qualifications:** - Associate's degree or technical school certificate. Class III operator certification as water, wastewater and/or industrial plant operator. - 7 years of related experience. - Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree. - Domestic and/or international travel may be required. CDM Smith will not be held liable to pay a placement fee. **Amount of Travel Required:** 10% **Assignment Category:** Parttime-Regular **Visa Sponsorship Available:** No - We will not support sponsorship, i.e. H-1B or TN Visas for this position **Skills and Abilities:** - Ability to prepare written technical reports and documents for operations and maintenance personnel. - Solid knowledge of sampling and analyses techniques. - Solid knowledge of the operations and maintenance of equipment, instrumentation, and other related physical plant assets. - Basic knowledge of a variety of O&M platforms (e.g., CMMS, databases, etc.) and on-line documentation. - Solid verbal and written communication skills. - Solid knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. - Ability to read and follow technical manuals and follow verbal and written instructions. **Background Check and Drug Testing Information:** CDM Smith Inc. and its divisions and subsidiaries (hereafter collectively referred to as “CDM Smith”) reserves the right to require background checks including criminal, employment, education, licensure, etc. as well as credit and motor vehicle when applicable for certain positions.
