Role Summary / Purpose:

The Operations Supervisor reports to the Rotor Repair Cell Leader and oversees repair operations, driving efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement. The Operations Supervisor will lead a team of technicians, applying lean principles and tools to optimize workflows, eliminate waste, and ensure customer satisfaction.

Essential Responsibilities:

- Supervise and lead a team of technicians in rotor repair operations, ensuring takt-based production and workflow alignment
- Implement and maintain a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging team members to identify and address waste, variability, and inefficiencies
- Foster a safe and quality-focused work environment, promoting do-check-act (DCA) and plan-do-check-act (PDCA) methodologies
- Manage employee performance, provide feedback, and address any performance issues

- Drive The Life Saving Rules, to embed a culture of safety within our dynamic, high-risk operations

Lean Manufacturing and Process Improvement:

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and share best practices

Quality and Safety:

- Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure quality and safety standards are met, using tools like layered process audits (LPAs)
- Investigate and address any quality or safety issues, implementing corrective actions and preventive measures to prevent reoccurrence
- Promote a culture of safety and quality, encouraging team members to report near misses and suggest improvements

Operations and Planning:

- Manage inventory, resources, and capacity to ensure efficient operations, minimizing waste and maximizing throughput
- Collaborate with other departments, such as engineering and procurement, to ensure seamless operations and resolve any issues

Qualifications / Requirements:

- Qualification: Institute of Technical Education or Mechanical Engineering related field

- Experience: Experience in the management of physical workers (2-5 years is an advantage)

- Competencies: User-level computer skills (MS Office, Word, Excel, Power Point)

Skills:

- Ability to motivate, develop a positive team spirit, Highly prioritize on the basis of the information received, Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to work well in the team, Open, Fast and efficient decision making
