Responsibilities Key Accountabilities As the operation process expert, this role provides guidance to the build plan including methods and techniques, sequence of steps, tool plans, layouts, etc. Responsible for keeping up with industry's best practices and implementing them within operations. Develop labor hour estimates as well as tooling and build concepts for new bid proposals Provides expertise in production engineering disciplines Apply principles and practices typically associated with quality engineering, industrial engineering, and manufacturing engineering functions and coordinates with other support disciplines or core functions as required. Teams to coordinate with include: Engineering, management, lean, tooling and operations Develops quality and cost-effective methods, standards, and systems for production by applying production engineering principles Leads and participates in long-range technical research on proposed projects Provides guidance to less experienced manufacturing support staff Qualifications Required Qualifications: 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing/manufacturing support, continuous improvement, or a Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of relevant experience High School Diploma or GED Strong understanding of composite fabrication and/or manufacturing processes, with proven experience in continuous improvement methodologies Ability to work effectively across departments and teams, with strong listening skills and a willingness to learn Proficiency in basic computer applications (Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to navigate 3D engineering models Preferred Qualifications: Project management experience, with familiarity in composites and/or systems installation Previous experience in aerospace or related industries; Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required SAP experience Manufacturing/shop floor experience, with knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies Understanding of the RCCA (Root Cause Corrective Action) process and the ability to prepare business cases for process improvements Spirit AeroSystems is an equal opportunity employer and considers qualified applicants for employment without regard to race, color, creed, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, marital or civil partnership status, pregnancy, age, disability, veteran status or any other protected factor under federal, state or local law.
