Are you looking for a fantastic career at Aqua Water?  We have an exciting opportunity for an Operations Team Lead based in South Point, OH! This person will be expected to act as a technical expert in the operation, maintenance, repair and construction for wastewater facilities; this includes (but is not limited to) wastewater treatment plants, pump stations and collection systems.  This person will ensure that all operations are in accordance with all applicable company & regulatory rules / requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Supervise a team of Utility Workers that is responsible for the distribution and collection system for both a water and wastewater system.Maintains records of operations, completes and submits routine and special reports as assigned. Including information for the Ohio EPA water distribution and wastewater collection monthly operating reports.Collect routine and special purpose water distribution system samples per Ohio EPA compliance, and ship samples to the appropriate lab for analysis.Operates and assists in repairs to water / wastewater systems and plants; responds to customer service calls.Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and address any non-compliance issues.Ensure compliance with regulatory authorities and ensure timely reporting of environmental data and incidents.Serve as the water distribution system and wastewater collection system ORC (operator of responsible control)Assign and oversee the daily tasks and responsibilities of a team of utility workers.Provide clear instructions, guidance, and support to ensure efficient and effective task completion.Monitor employee performance and provide feedback to improve productivity and quality of work.Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to protect the well-being of the teamWill ensure subordinate staff are correctly using business software; this includes (but is not limited to) Service Link, SAP, and Timetrack.Serve in an On-Call rotation with availability 24-hours/day as well as on weekends (in conjunction with other department personnel).Lead and/or assist with other tasks or projects, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma (or equivalent degree) is required at a minimum.3 years of professional experience working in wastewater and/or water treatment system operations (and/or capital improvement projects).Proven project management experience, especially with multiple projects simultaneously, is preferred.Supervisory and/or leadership experience is preferred.Possession of a valid Ohio drivers’ license at the class level required by the State to operate the fleet equipment associated with the job.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Proficient with using computers, including use of the Microsoft Office Suite as well as other maintenance and GIS-based software applications.Excellent written and verbal communications skills; this person will be expected to communicate effectively (in a clear, concise, and professional manner).Strong customer service skills.Ability to work well under pressure.Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.Team Player demeanor with the ability to work effectively and multi-task in a team-fostered environment.Must possess OEPA Water Distribution Class I License.Must possess OEPA Wastewater Operator Class II License.At least three (3) years’ experience in the water treatment/distribution field; wastewater experience is preferable but not required.
        

WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

May be subject to extreme temperatures, noise, wet and/or humid conditions, mechanical, electrical, gas exposure hazards, fumes, dusts, mists, gases and /or poor ventilation atmospheric conditions.Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.See, hear, talk, and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity. Working conditions include travel to work sites of Essential Utilities and/or other constituents (if applicable).
