The Martinez II H2 facilities is located onsite at the PBF Refinery in Martinez and consists of 1 SMR (steam methane reformer), and associated equipment. Currently we have one IMMEDIATE opportunity for an experienced Operations Technicians.

Plant Operations Tech Roles and Responsibilities:

As experience Operations Technician, you will be responsible for controlling and monitoring the processes to produce hydrogen, which includes operating and controlling the following:  

Day to Day control and monitoring the processes to produce hydrogen, which includes operating and controlling the following:FurnacesCompressorsDCS monitoring systemsRotating EquipmentCatalyst ReactorsWater Treatment Systems (Boiler and Cooling Water Systems)Pneumatically Operated and Manual ValvesPressure Swing Adsorption skidTroubleshoot, respond to operating conditions, respond to customer order rates, and process optimizationComplete operator rounds, execute minor preventative maintenance, and support mechanical and instrumentation maintenance and projectsPermit work in the field and monitor contract partnersParticipate in Process Safety and Personnel Safety programs and implement site policies and regulations.This is a sensitive position.

Required Skills / Abilities:

A strong commitment to safety, working as a team, and operational excellenceA self-starter with a Strong Work ethic.Ability to read and interpret piping schematics/ diagramsUtilizing written procedures for starting and stopping equipmentIsolating systems for maintenance using work permits and lock out tag out processPerforming Water chemistry testingOperating manual and pneumatic valvesOperating systems from remote location via Distributed Control SystemStanding rotating watches outside normal working hours i.e.Turbine Generator WatchCCS/ DC Central WatchWorking safely in dynamic environments (loud, high temps, etc.)

Education and Licensing Requirements:

Applicants must have a HS diploma or equivalent.2-years’ experience in a manufacturing or production environment with chemical processing or petrochemical preferredAn associates degree in Process Technology or Engineering is advantageous and may be considered in lieu of experienceAbility to obtain a TWIC

Work Hours & Benefits:

Able to work 12hr rotating shift schedule to support the 24/7 operation of the unitsOn call during weekdays and weekends as needed.

Starting pay: $49.87/hr (8hr rate).
