The Operations Technician is responsible for applying their skills to perform various operational duties. This role involves coordinating periodic manual inventory checks, scheduling and interacting with delivery subcontractors, and managing the receipt and handling of investigational agents. The technician will also be responsible for sample aggregations and splits, lot transfers, inventory adjustments, and resolving preferred lots for shipping. Providing daily inventory reports and completing other duties as assigned to meet business needs are also key responsibilities.
Responsibilities
+ Coordinate periodic manual inventory checks.
+ Schedule and interact with delivery subcontractors.
+ Receive and check investigational agents from their respective manufacturers; move drugs in and out of quarantine, both physically and in the database.
+ Perform sample aggregations and splits, lot transfers, and inventory adjustments.
+ Resolve preferred lots for shipping.
+ Provide daily inventory reports to the DMID staff.
+ Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
Essential Skills
+ Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in written form.
+ Ability to prepare reports using Microsoft Excel.
+ Proficiency in Windows, Microsoft Word, and possibly Microsoft Access.
+ Basic knowledge of Universal Precautions, general laboratory practices, and quality assurance/control.
+ Good professional judgment when working with clients.
+ Ability to role model behavior consistent with company values.
+ Strong logic and problem-solving skills.
+ Dedication and ability to function and complete tasks without continual oversight and direction.
+ High integrity and reliability, as database and inventory management are key aspects of the position.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Specimen handling experience.
+ Quality control experience.
+ Inventory management skills.
+ Experience with cold room environments.
+ Experience in scanning and using SOPs.
+ Knowledge of FDA regulations.
Work Environment
The work environment includes a sterile warehouse-type environment and office, with a repository that contains freezers. This position requires adherence to safety and quality control standards.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
