Operations Technician

Operations Technician ​ 

Type: Permanent

Location: Macclesfield

Shift: Monday - Friday

Alternating early and late shift patterns per week

Earlies (06:00-13:30), Lates (13:30-21:00)

Introduction to role

To operate, changeover and setup the packing line in accordance with operating methods described in the work standard sequences to meet SHE and GMP requirements. Provide guidance to the line operation teams and integrated engineering line support (clean, inspect, check, monitor and report).

Accountabilities

- Delivers a prompt 1st line engineering critical issue if line stops following set up, running / repeat adjustments

- Can support and receive mentor direction from the Engineering Technician in completing engineering activities, dependant on production availability / demand

- Understands SHE compliance, GMP compliance and OEE performance status of the asset and report out promptly

- Optimise changeover, set up and updates of key fact files and implements compliant improvement on time to the required standard

- Optimises performance outcomes of self and others, PET and aligned functions and activity

- Understands the big picture and connects individuals to it in a significant way.

- To deliver a safe and compliant product maintaining changeover and setup efficiencies

- To provide efficient changeover and setup of packing equipment in a timely manner, responsible for ensuring compliant asset contribution to OEE (availability, performance & quality) is delivered through standard work sequences.

- Continuous improvement

- Optimises compliant asset performance & changeover processes within the PET in line with global standards

Essential Skills/Experience

- Secondary education or equivalent

- Computer literate (basic knowledge Outlook and of AZ systems e.g., SABA Cloud)

- Proven problem-solving skills

- Experience of working in a highly regulated environment

- Significant & relevant experience of changeover and setup practices within a highly regulated environment

Desirable Skills/Experience

- Knowledge of IT Systems where appropriate e.g., Mercury, MSDM, Microsoft Office, XFI, PCs, PLCs

- Demonstrated continuous improvements skills

- Experience of Pharmaceutical Operations

- Knowledge of GMP and SHE requirements

- Operational knowledge of AstraZeneca’s products and packing procedures

- Working experience of a packing line

- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in a relevant engineering field
