Overview of the Role

As a member of the Pasteurizer team, the Pasteurizer Operator is responsible for cream/skim pasteurization, management of cream/milk/salvage inventories as well as the operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of areas within the pasteurizer room.

Schedule: 4 x 12-hour day shift 07:00 am - 7:00 pm; 4 days off; 4 x 12-hour night shift 7:00 pm - 07:00 am; 4 days off.  

Hourly rate: $27.41

How you will make contributions that matter:

Ensure the safe and productive operation of HTST equipment.Make the necessary adjustments to the HTST’s and Separator to achieve above average production/quality objectives.Complete testing such as butterfat levels, total acidity, temperature checks etc.Complete all CIP functions and cleaning of equipment and plant work areas.Management of silos, tanks, lines and equipment to ensure product safety and quality.Manage plant butter/milk/cream salvage.Ensuring the correct usage of equipment and processes to reduce utility wastage and to assist in the elimination of plant effluent violations.Maintain and complete all duties and tests required for HACCP.Provide relief in fluid receiving.Provide vacation/sick relief as needed.Other duties as assigned.

You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications:

Must display a mechanical ability to make the required equipment adjustmentsMust be able to operate/wash equipment in a satisfactory manner within the specified training period.  The specified training period shall be a mutual agreement between the successful applicant and management prior to accepting the position.Previous experience maintaining/operating dairy plant production equipment.An ability to learn and perform all duties as required.Ability to work without direct supervision.Ability to work shiftwork including weekends.Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and Management.Acceptable attendance record (within the overall plant average).Acceptable attendance record (within the overall plant average).
