The Vacuum Forming Operator is responsible for activities to include operating the VF machine that heats, forms, and molds raw materials into tubs, shower bases and wall sets. The Operator owns and is accountable for the process. They adjust the machine, trouble shoot irregular situations, and are active problem solvers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (including but not limited to)
Work safely while performing job dutiesStart up and shut down machineOperate machine to make acceptable products, including loading and unloading sheet and trimming partsPart of the SMED team for change overs as scheduled during the shiftPerform in process inspections and make quality decisions and escalate concerns.Perform regular and preventive machine maintenance Complete check listsDocument and update performance metrics.Perform 5S routines and leave area clean, stocked and ready for the next shift.Other duties as assigned.Education and Experience/Skills:
Previous experience in a production environment
High School graduate or GED preferred
Ability to interpret reports & analyze data
Must be able to:
Work independently, make decisions, communicate with others
Work with a high degree of accuracy and with attention to detail
Lift, bend and reach, including below waist level and above shoulder level
Lift, push and pull weights of up to 37lbs frequently
Use hands to manipulate parts and machine controls
Use vision to read labels and inventory sheets
