Primary Responsibilities are, but not limited to the following:
Works as a leader of the crew, operator assistants, feeders, packers, and inspectors working on the machine. Must be supportive and involved in GPI efforts for LEAN, 5’s, Six Sigma and other Continuous Improvement programs and processes. Operates production machinery in accordance with prints and specifications. Strives for operational excellence within established specifications and tolerances to achieve standard. Obtains job tickets and reviews prior to running orders. Measures finished parts with precision tools, ensuring compliance with function, quality, and cosmetic specifications. Maintains logs and records of units produced including a record of errors resulting in rejected or discarded pieces. Inspects equipment prior to use to ensure proper setup and alignment; performs basic and routine adjustments and maintenance. Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work area. Performs other related duties as assigned.Required Skills/Abilities:
Ability to follow directions and work well in a team environment Ability to interpret and translate designs and documentation Trains and enforces compliances on established best practices with all personnel Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production equipment Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to troubleshoot, adjust, and debug the equipment and production lines required in house or at the customers facility Thorough attention to detail Excellent verbal and written communication skills Basic computer and data entry skills Understanding of and the ability to abide by applicable OSHA and environmental regulations, to include LOTO and GPI’s 7 Safety Absolutes Visual color discrimination, the ability to match or detect differences between colors, including shades of colors Ability to work under minimal supervision Good attendance Ensure that production goals and objectives are met in a timely and efficient manner Ensure that production processes are carried out in accordance with established safety and quality standards Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment Train and mentor production staff in the use of equipment and processes Monitor inventory levels and ensure proper stock rotation Troubleshoot production issues and resolve them in a timely manner
