Controls treatment operation at East River Station and continuous monitoring of water quality and treatment control systems, including pumps. analyzers/instrumentation, filters, chemical feed systems, and SCADA control systems. _ *Key Accountabilities*_ * Operates, controls and maintains motors, pumps, valves and equipment to regulate flow and pressure of water pumped into the treatment plant and distribution system. Monitors and records condition of pumps and equipment. * Monitors charts and chart-recording equipment. Places pumps online or shut down pumps as the system demands, electrical demand management or water quality dictates. * Monitors and controls electric feed systems and standby emergency electric generation systems to ensure continuous operation. Monitors * Monitors and controls distribution control system (SCADA) to ensure system integrity. * Monitors and answers telephone and radio systems and monitor plant and distribution system surveillance and security systems. * Maintains a log of operations. Prepares daily, weekly and monthly pumping and operational reports. * Operates and monitors chemical feed systems and adjusts chemical dosages to ensure proper water treatment to meet water quality standards established by state and federal regulations. * Performs laboratory analysis and operates lab equipment for process control and water quality testing. * Monitors and controls distribution control system (SCADA) to ensure proper water treatment.
