JOB DESCRIPTION 

CSMART is currently looking for an Operator for 40 hours per week, with a particular focus on assisting our Technical and Nautical Instructors in their classroom and simulator activities.

CSMART, Center for Simulator Maritime Training, is the international award-winning training center for Operational HESS trainings onboard, online and onsite programs for Carnival Corporation & plc. 

 As an Operator you are an integral part of the CSMART team, where your key responsibilities will include, yet not limited to:   

Duties & Responsibilities: 

Operates the Simulator during exercises; Follow exercise scripts coordinating with instructors regarding role play; Ensure the simulator room is neat and tidy, properly set up for planned scenario prior to Instructor and participants entering; Assist with briefing and debrief participants; Ensure debrief rooms are functioning and prepared as per schedule; Assist instructor with modules/elements of the course; Assist in Bridge and Engine room familiarization; Deliver theoretical, practical and/or de-briefings lecture room modules based on skills & knowledge; Assist with simulator maintenance in keeping with expertise and IT departmental guidance; Work closely with the instructor pool and facilitate potential progression to Instructor led tasks. Assist the development team with new simulator scenarios/testing; Assist with new simulator related courses/material and testing; Apply the principles after attending Bridge Resource Management/NACOS and/or Engine Resource Management/Diesel Electric Propulsion course. Followed by more complex programs like promotion assessments and High Voltage Management i.e.

Requirements & Experience:

College or Bachelor degree in technical, maritime, or other suitable equivalent environments; Experience within the maritime industry, preferably on cruise ships. Served as a third Officer/Engineer or above is preferred. Experience at sea within a CRM trained working environment;

Skills 

Technical/Software Skills 

Be able to operate Full Mission Bridge, Full Mission Engine room and High Voltage workshop simulators after suitable training and following courses. Proficient in Microsoft Office, (Word Excel PowerPoint, Sway) is advantageous; Knowledge of computers and networks; Knowledge of ship systems is an advantage;

Personal Skills

Good interpersonal and communications skills; Analytical and structured thinker; Works well in a multi-cultural team environment and is self-managing on individual assignments; Open, conscious, engaged, agreeable with a natural passion of assisting or helping others

Language Skills

Fluent written and verbal English language
