About the role 

As an Operator you will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day running of our Cooperage based at Cambus. Our modern, state of the art cooperage has been custom designed in close co-operation with the company’s coopers, drawing on generations of skill, craft, and experience.

On the minor repair line, you will be working with a close team of 5 coopers and 8 operators to test and prepare whisky barrels prior to being filled with our world-renowned products. Using a combination of trained handling techniques, hydraulic machinery, and bespoke robotic technology you will support the team with processing over 2500 barrels per week, in line with our operating plan.

Quality is at the heart of everything we do and a keen attention to detail, passion for learning about our products/industry and embracing teamwork is a must.

What you’ll bring 

As a Cooperage Operator you will be expected to demonstrate high levels of teamwork and flexibility working in your core role as well as supporting other areas. The role involves working in a large team production environment and good communication is essential. Working to the highest level of Health & Safety is expected from all personnel working within Diageo.

In addition, you’ll demonstrate the ability to:


· Work efficiently and in a safe manner at all times

· Work to and achieve set targets at workstations

· Communicate effectively with other team members

· Display positive behaviours and flexibility on an ongoing basis.
