Areas of Responsibility

Set up and operation of various machines Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations Ensure correct materials are used to meet customer specifications Ensure all inventory entries are complete and accurate Responsible for meeting all quality and efficiency standards Meet all company safety policies and report any concerns related to required maintenance of machines Maintain contact with Production Supervisors and co-workers General housekeeping during down time to include shovelling, sweeping, and hosing to clean area Adhere to all mill environmental, health and safety guidelines, policies, and practice Performing other related duties as assigned

Skills & Ability

Physical ability to perform assigned machine related tasks: prolonged sitting, walking, standing, and bending Physical ability to perform assigned tasks (lift, push and pull 50+ pounds) Strong verbal communication skills Understand oral and written communications, both general and technical. Communication skills Provide clear instructions/directions. Problem solving and troubleshooting skills. Occasionally walk on slippery or uneven surfaces Must be able to use, or learn to use, the equipment and tools used to perform this job Must be able to perform all the job functions safely Must meet the company quality and performance standards for the job as specified Work in all types of weather conditions

Education & Qualification:

Preferred experience in machine operation in construction, manufacturing, or repair setting At least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or similar environment operating heavy equipment At least 18 years of age High School Diploma or GED
