Operator/Driver

Scope of the Position

The primary focus of the Driver/Operator is to support the plant by performing all required driver operator duties and responsibilities, in a safe and effective manner.

In this role, the Driver/Operator is responsible for handling and transportation of bulk liquid commodities, which include hazardous materials. The vast majority of our deliveries are local, where you will be returning to the home location at the end of every shift. Overnight trips and business travel are seldom required.

Shift:  Monday to Friday 40 hours/rotational

 

Key Responsibilities

Transport and unload chemicals into customers’ tanks, safely and with the required paperwork. Load chemicals into the tank trailer, and accurately complete Bills of Lading, certificates of analysis, and other documents. Must follow all applicable DOT, Chemtrade EHS rules and regulations, plant operating procedures, and those of the customers when on their property. Complete and maintain safety, quality, and ISO documentation and records. Unload raw materials from tank trucks. Maintain plant and vehicle cleanliness. As required, produce Liquid Aluminum Sulfate, Aluminum Chloride, Aluminum Chlorohydrate and blends according to Company Standards and Procedures. Follow production and maintenance schedules with Plant Supervisor.

 

What You Need To Be Successful

Must have valid CDL Class A with Hazmat and tanker endorsements. Preferred to have 3 to 5 years of tank trailer driving experience with liquid bulk commodities. High School Diploma or GED. Possess a clean driving record (MVR) for past three (3) years. Provide proof of experience or training to safely operate the type of motor vehicle used by Chemtrade. Provide valid medical card and be physically qualified to perform the required work. Meet Department of Transportation qualifications as required by CFR 391. Must be able to work a flexible and changeable schedule that includes weekends, evenings, and overtime. Must possess customer service experience, verbal and written communication skills, and computer knowledge.
