We are seeking an Operator - Excavation for a maintenance position in Jackson, AL. This position is responsible for operating various power-driven machinery used to move dirt or other materials. May operate all or some of the following types of equipment: excavator, backhoe, bulldozer, dragline, front-end loader, motor grader, dump truck, etc. Non-exempt role; Reports to the Foreman; Assigned duties according to specific procedures \/ work is checked frequently.\n

Essential Qualifications:\n\nHigh school or equivalent\nCommercial Driver's License (CDL) may be required\nMay require NCCCO or NCCER certifications\nGeneral knowledge of civil construction and excavation\nGeneral knowledge of maintaining level grade at defined elevations\nPre-employment qualification test\nPost-offer drug\/alcohol screen and physical evaluation (20\/40 vision, with or without correction, required)\nJob site safety requirements as required by the client (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.)\nSafety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.)\nApplicant\/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace\n\n\n

Functional Requirements:\n

Moves hand and foot levers to control diesel, electric and gasoline equipment, Interprets hand signals to determine where materials are to be placed, Reads and interprets load charts, May assemble or disassemble equipment or material on maintenance or construction sites, May be required to manipulate equipment on un-level working surfaces, May perform maintenance duties such as cleaning, greasing and oiling machines\/equipment, Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.\n
