About the Role:

We are seeking a Manufacturing Technician to join our Biomanufacturing Unit. You'll process animal blood-derived material into sterile liquid and freeze-dried products. In this role, your primary focus will be the precise operation and management of advanced ultraviolet (UV) systems and sterile filtration processes. This full-time position operates Monday to Friday. We are looking for candidates to support the afternoon and night shift, based on business needs. The afternoon shift operates 9:00am to 5:30pm and night shift operates 4:30pm to 1:00am.

Salary: $27.00 – $28.50 per hour, plus Night Shift allowances

Key Responsibilities:

Complete day-to-day production activities in conformance with standard operating procedures (SOPs)Abide by EHS policies and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy workplace environment for allFollow Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and ISO principles.Complete Batch Manufacturing Records (BMRs), ensuring that all information is accurate, legible and correct to guarantee traceabilityPerform in-process sampling and monitoring to assure batches meet specification; trouble shoot processes, procedures and product issues with the assistance of othersPerform manual handling tasks as required, which may include: liquid filling, powder packaging, labelling, picking materials, product pooling, filtrationactivities, product packing, moving loaded trolleys and pallets throughout the facility, and other related tasksIndependent operation and management of advanced ultraviolet (UV) systems and sterile filtration processes during night shiftsOperate, monitor and troubleshoot machinery as required, which may include: aseptic dispensing equipment, freeze dryers, labellers, water baths, autoclaves, UV systems, integrity testers, and other related machinesPerform filtration tasks as required, which may include: filter integrity testing, filter selection and set-up, filter change-outs, pH adjustment, operating clean-in-place (CIP) processes, trouble shooting, and other related tasks.Use RF scanning and manage inventory of consumablesClean and sanitize equipment and production areasUpdate and revise manufacturing documentation including SOPs and BMRs; generate ideas and practice continuous improvement in advancing quality and cost, and efficiency gains; assist and participate in investigations, projects and validation as requiredCommunicate production issues to Production Supervisor and/or Team Leader as they arise

Keys to Success:

Previous Experience Required:

At least 6 months of relevant cGMP bio-manufacturing experience, including:Operating, monitoring, and troubleshooting bioprocessing equipment, including UV systemsOperating filtration equipment, including processing liquid media through sterile filtration pathwaysWorking in an ISO7 clean room environment, including the operation of aseptic dispensing equipmentSafely handling chemicals and hazardous materialsProven ability to work independently on night shifts with limited supervision

Skills:

Skilled in operating automated and semi-automated machinery.Strong attention to detail.Proven ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively in a diverse team.Problem-solving and decision-making skills.Good mechanical proficiency

Physical Requirements:

Capable of manual handling tasks, including lifting up to 20kg.Perform duties in freezer and chilled storage areas.
