Location/Division Specific Information We are currently seeking an Operator II, Manufacturing to join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. in Bothell. A day in the Life: + Assemble, align, and test complex electro-mechanical, optical-electrical, mechanical, and electronic subassemblies according to product diagrams, schematics, or samples. + Clean and prepare parts for assembly, ensuring flawless execution and consistency to strict quality standards. + Use commonly used hand tools like torque drivers, soldering irons, screwdrivers, crimp tools, and wire cutters to accomplish assembly tasks. + Read and interpret production or engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, test instructions, assembly drawings, work orders, procedures, and safety rules. + Determine the sequence of operations based on sketches, samples, and written or oral instructions. + Inspect and test completed assemblies to ensure they meet specifications, recording results accurately. Keys to Success: To excel in this role, you will need: + Minimum 1 year of directly applicable experience as an Electro-Mechanical assembler. + The ability to select and use common hand tools with precision and efficiency. + Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to grasp, hold, and manipulate small objects repeatedly and for long durations. + Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in the English language. + Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to successfully implement solutions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Education + High school diploma or equivalent experience is required. Experience + Minimum 1 year of directly applicable experience as an Electro-Mechanical assembler. + Experience in operating computers and common software to use workplace systems is a plus. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities + Proficiency in assembling, aligning, and testing complex electro-mechanical, opto-electrical, mechanical, and electronic subassemblies. + Ability to read and interpret production or engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, test instructions, assembly drawings, work orders, procedures, and safety rules. + Strong attention to detail and the ability to determine the sequence of operations from sketches, samples, and written or oral instructions. Physical Requirements / Work Environment This role involves duties performed in a production environment where it requires regular sitting, handling, as well as occasional walking and standing. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and color vision. The role also requires eye-hand coordination. Additionally, you must be able to relate to other people beyond giving and receiving instructions, exhibit a positive demeanor, and work well in a team environment. This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
