The Operator III will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of multiple pieces of machinery used to fabricate, monitor, manufacture, and assemble products. This role will also involve performing preventive maintenance on assigned machines and making necessary machine adjustments to ensure optimal performance.Essential Job Duties:
Perform necessary pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup and operation. Conduct both basic and precise measurements using hand tools such as rulers, tape measures, gauges, squares, shims, micrometers, and calipers. Perform periodic checks to ensure the quality and accuracy of products. Make basic and advanced adjustments to machines and controls, regulating machining factors like pressure and machine speeds. Monitor and maintain production equipment efficiently. Maintain excellent housekeeping standards in the work area. Report any existing or potential machine problems to a supervisor or coach. Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-speed environment, following standardized work and adhering to safe practices in a continuous improvement environment. Strong focus on detail and task completion. Proficiency in Lockout-Tagout procedures. Proficient in using ERP systems like DataFlo or equivalent. Ability to accurately read blueprints and make precise measurements. Capacity to rotate across all functional areas as needed. Proficient in basic math, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractions. Ability to meet production and scrap standards. Basic computer skills and reading comprehension. Demonstrates mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Team-oriented and self-directed.
Education, Credentials & Experience:
High School Diploma or GED (preferred). 1 to 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, including machine operation (preferred).
Working Environment & Physical Effort:
Adherence to safety standards and proper PPE usage, including steel-toe shoes and warehouse vests. Ability to perform repetitive tasks and maintain physical stamina for long periods of standing, bending, twisting, or lifting. Capability to lift, load, unload, push, and pull parts weighing up to 50 pounds. Flexibility to work assigned hours with the potential for overtime, including Saturdays. Ability to work in varying temperatures, from summer heat to winter cold.
