Job Summary

Work under minimal supervision with a good deal of latitude for independent judgment.  Leads provide direction and quality control the work of less experienced technicians.  Works on non-routine and complex assignments within the Regional Operation Center that are varied in nature where evaluation and ingenuity are required.  ROC Leads are the primary department contact, in the absence of the Manager.  Must be very well versed with the soft tools that are used such as: Serve-Assure, Remedy, My World/Ubisence, Veex, PSMON, NOCBI, Tec-Trac, SevOne, Agora, Netwins & NetQ 

Responsibilities

Position is vital to Outside Plant/Inside plant, providing, real-time, technical and backend support for the field.  Service quality for between 1 and 500 customers can be impacted and improved through each ROC interaction.

Responsible for all duties of a ROC Operator I and II. Assigned to complex assignments involving problematic system issues and executive-level escalations related to customer premise, plant impairment, and outages. Performs in place of the Supervisor in daily operations when needed and will represent the regional operation center Supervisor in meetings related to the operations.   Conducts on the job training for lower level technicians and will assist them in performing more complex technical tasks, from the Head End through the tap and in the delivery of service excellence.   Provides training updates and reports to ROC Supervisor, identifying possible knowledge gaps of less experienced technicians.   Responsible for Quality Control checks of operators to ensure departmental accuracy & efficiency Other duties as required. Qualifications A minimum of 2 years as a ROC Operator II or equivalent work experience Must have demonstrated expertise in the interpretation of system design prints, advanced knowledge of the HFC network, basic knowledge of the Head End, and/or understanding, up to the cable modem termination system (CMTS) Must possess advanced office software knowledge and be able to prepare complex spreadsheet and office documents Must have excellent communication skills with proven abilities in fostering relationships within department and across functional groups Must possess and demonstrate positive leadership and appropriate decision-making skills Must regularly demonstrate reliability. Must be flexible in taking on multiple and varied assignments Prior record of exceeding expectations is desired Must be able to prepare & hold bi-monthly team meetings Must be able to hold monthly 1:1 meeting with team members

This position is identified as being performed in/or reporting to company operations in New York State. Salary ranges are supplied in compliance with New York State law. Pay is competitive and based on a number of job-related factors, including skills and experience. The starting pay rate/range at time of hire for this position in the posted location is $66,088.00 - $108,573.00 / year. The rate/range provided herein is the anticipated pay at the time of hire, and does not reflect future job opportunity.
