Job Description

Seeking a suitable, qualified, and reliable Operator-Mine Control. The purpose of this position is to operate, control, monitor and report on plant and equipment associated with Underground Mining production and support systems. The role will report to the Senior Engineer-Production.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

Collect mine production data during the shift via radio calls and automated data collectionMonitor safety systems and mine infrastructure statusProvide initial incident response communication for mine incidentsFacilitate information transfer during shifts between operators and supervisorsProvide area control and personnel monitoringProvide dispatch guidance during the shiftTrack asset locations during the shiftNotify mechanical and electrical maintenance personnel of machine statusMaintain key material stock levels via registers and alerting to low levelsCreate various reports for performance during the shift

QualificationsBehaviour consistent with OceanaGold Corp. Values and the OceanaGold WayCollege graduate or equivalentPrior experience working on a minesiteProficiency in Microsoft Suite, especially MS ExcelEffective verbal and written communication skillsDemonstrated high level of interpersonal, communication and organisational skills with attention to detailThe ability to multitask while remaining calm in a fast paced environmentWith a valid Professional Driver’s License
