Job Title: Operational Excellence Specialist\n
FLSA Status: Exempt\n
\n
Summary \n
Implement and lead projects to improve efficiency and productivity, eliminate waste, and improve safety, quality and service. \n
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.\n\nIn conjunction with plant management, identify opportunities for plant operations improvements, including all aspects of quality, productivity, safety, inventory, turnover, etc. Monitor, review and communicate performance statistics and observations with management.\nFunction as the local leader for implementing and coordinating operational excellence \nPerform periodic plant assessments with plant management, identify high warranty or service quality issues, review top \"problems per home \"and identify corrective actions. Identify and share with GM and plant management, Champion \"Best Practice \"activities.\nPublish standards and process requirements in designated plant stations. Maintain and update standard work processes.\nDevelop and implement quarterly and periodic operational excellence plans with GM and plant management, track and report results.\nEnsure the production workforce is properly trained in process and manufacturing methods.\nAssist plant management with requests to address manufacturing productivity problems.\nAssist management in problem-solving and training solutions in all departments.\nDesign, develop, and implement training for operational excellence of safety performance, quality performance, and productivity throughout the plant location.\nMaintain records and statistics to support training history by employee and by topic.\nWork with Quality Department, Human Resources Department, and Production Supervision to assure training meets all requirements.\nIdentify inefficiencies in the manufacturing process and work with plant management to improve efficiency.\n\n

Education and\/or Experience\n
Some college or university coursework; knowledge of building and construction (manufactured housing as a plus)\n
