Ophthalmic Technician | CentraCare Eye Clinic

Find your purpose as an Ophthalmic Technician at CentraCare Eye Clinic located at Sauk Crossing in Sartell. 

The Ophthalmic Technician is responsible for daily patient care and flow of clinic activities. This position requires good understanding of ophthalmic practice and patient care and will have knowledge of proper care and usage of medical instruments, understand characteristics of common anterior segment disorders and oculoplastic conditions, working knowledge of eye anatomy, disease, symptoms and ocular medications, and will utilize proper eye drop technique and sterility. Ability to communicate with patients, co-workers and manager is critical. Must be willing to help in all areas and understand the need for efficient use of time. Under the direction of the Ophthalmologist or Optometrist or physician, performs various procedures. May be required to follow and observe provider(s) for intermittent or extended periods of time to accurately document every aspect of the patient encounter as well as assist with the efficiency of the provider(s) by complying with the location-specific workflows and will assist doctors in patient care and communicate follow up items with patients! Will also need to travel to Long Prairie as needed. 

Schedule:

Full Time | 72-80 hours every 2 weeks.  8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday

Pay and Benefits:

Requirements:

Previous experience or training in Ophthalmology or related field. Knowledge of medical instrumentation and its proper care and usage needed. Previous experience or training in Ophthalmology or related field. Successful completion of JCAHPO Certified Ophthalmic Assistant among hire within 1 1/2 Years. Outreach travel to Long Prairie is required. Mileage paid. Certified Ophthalmic Technician Preferred
