Perform basic and routine eye examination procedures to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of eye
diseases and problems. Explain diagnostic and treatment procedures to patients.
Minimum Education:
Required: Associates Degree OR equivalent training acquired via work experience or education
COT certification
Minimum Experience:
Preferred: 1-2 years of previous job-related experience
Licensure/Certifications:
Other: After graduation from an ophthalmic technician education course, staff in the Ophthalmic Assistant position are required to become certified ophthalmic assistants within the first year of employment.
