SFFGS OPS In Person Surveyor
Job Description:Work with the Klizentyte Economics and Policy Lab at the School of Forest, Fisheries, and Geomatics Sciences (SFFGS) to help achieve grant requirements of the sponsored work. Responsibilities include:
· Work with the Klizentyte Economics and Policy Lab at SFFGS to support the objectives of the grant-funded study.
· Drive to various public and private springs in North and Central Florida (typically 40 minutes to 1.5 hours each way).
· Conduct in-person intercept surveys with recreational users, using either paper forms or an electronic tablet.
· Station yourself at public entrances to spring facilities for extended periods (2-4 hours), including interacting with visitors.
· Clearly communicate the purpose of the survey and study to visitors.
· Coordinate with state park and private facility staff to access survey locations.
· Submit monthly reports to your supervisor.
· Perform occasional data entry and other tasks as assigned.
Expected Salary:$13-$15 an hour
Minimum Requirements:Valid Florida Driver’s License. Able to sit or stand outside in various weather conditions for 2-4 hours of time. Be an effective communicator with others.
Preferred Qualifications:Previous social surveying experience, or intricate knowledge of north and central Florida’s spring systems.
