As one of the primary points of contact for our department, our Senior Clerks play a crucial role in ensuring that individuals receive the care and support they need. + Greet and assist visitors with warmth and professionalism as they arrive at the health department. + Answer incoming calls promptly and direct them to the appropriate department or staff member. + Schedule appointments for clients using our Electronic Health System. + Verify insurance coverage and assist clients with insurance-related inquiries and screening for the Sliding Fee Discount Program. + Collaborate closely with other staff members to ensure seamless coordination of services. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: + Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including MS Outlook, WORD and EXCEL + Able to change easily from one task to another. + Relate well to different people from varied backgrounds and different situations. + Manages a variety of responsibilities in a timely, efficient manner and able to prioritize tasks. Qualifications: Minimum + Incumbent must possess a valid driver’s license. + Incumbent must have a High School diploma or equivalent. + Incumbent must obtain Incident Command System (ICS-100) certification within 60 days and National Incident Management System (IS-700) certification within 90 days of employment. + Incumbent must complete the Family Planning Title X mandatory trainings within 30 days of employment, Preferred + Have experience working in a clinical setting. + Have experience verifying insurance coverages. + Bilingual in English and Spanish or English and Portuguese Florida Department of Health Mission, Vision, and Values: Mission: To protect, promote & improve the health of all people in Florida through integrated state, county & community efforts.
