Position Summary\n

SURVICE Engineering is currently seeking a Optical and Spectroscopy Researcher to support our Aberdeen Research Operation. You will accelerate your career and become an integral team member within the defense community.\n

Primary Duties and Responsibilities\n\nEstablish optics and spectroscopy capabilities for the study of various micro-organism outputs, such as bioluminescence. \nDesign and optimize protocols for experimental analysis and implement tests to evaluate the performance of micro-organism expression.\nExecute experiments to support biotechnology workflows in optical and spectroscopy data collection. \nPerform analysis on large, collected data sets. \nWork closely with internal subject matter experts to meet project deliverables.\nPrepare and present presentations and written documents summarizing efforts.\nInteract with other government agencies, universities, industry, and facility personnel in the execution of complex research and development objectives.\nLaboratory work and potentially field work to include set up and experimental development of spectroscopy and optical systems for the characterization of micro-organism outputs.\nOptimize protocols for the collection of experimental data.\nHandle micro-organisms, including bacteria, yeast, fungi, and other organisms.\nProvide support on the analysis and interpretation of data.\nWork on an inter-disciplinary team towards field-ready capabilities.\nManaging schedule and directing work to meet deadlines\nComply with policies on record-keeping and distribution limits for data and technical information.\nPrepare and present presentations and written documents summarizing efforts in Government format for Form 1 approval (process of instruction provided by COR as GFI). \nUpon TO COR request, Contractor personnel shall present the information to staff, universities, private corporations, research institutes, national laboratories, or other Government research centers.\nParticipate in programmatic and technical meetings, both virtually and in-person.\nOccasional travel to other lab sites and to perform field testing\n\n

Minimum Qualifications of Optical and Spectroscopy Researcher\n

Bachelor's Degree in Physics, Chemistry, or Engineering and 5+ years of relevant experience. Exceptional candidates with less experience will be considered. Candidates are not required to possess all qualifications; if you possess some of the desired qualifications, please apply.\n\n Experience in the setup of analytical instrumentation for experimental analysis, specifically spectroscopy and optical signal processing\nStrong data analysis skills with experience in processing quantitative data sets\nExperience documenting experimental and analytical procedures, methods, results, and conclusions\nSole US citizenship with a SECRET security clearance OR willingness to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance\n\n
