Optical Quality Engineer

In this position, you will be involved throughout the entire process, from control the quality of incoming material to laser manufacturing process, work interactively with teams to continuous improve the overall quality level of the laser. You thrive in working in a team environment as well as be self-driven with natural leadership skills. Your ambition to learn more in-depth about laser technology and its subsystems will be applied to improve quality of laser in our manufacturing facility.

We push the boundaries of technology to develop a wide range of nanosecond, picosecond, and femtosecond lasers that address the needs of Industrial, Scientific, and Life and Health markets. If you have a passion for working with cutting-edge laser systems and become an expert in problem-solving, this is the role for you.

What you will do is:

•Performs analysis and identifies trends in the inspection of finished products, in-process materials and raw materials, and recommends corrective actions when necessary

•Develops, evaluates, revises, and applies technical quality assurance protocols/methods to inspect and test in-process raw materials, production equipment, and finished products.

•Work with cross function team to review non-conforming part and make proper disposition, continuously make efforts to drive yield improvement and reduce the quality costs by optimizing process, reducing rejects and rework

•Participate in quality audits and evaluations to ensure the effective operation of the quality management system

•Identify and organize team to work together to solve quality problems, recommend corrective and preventive action to prevent the problem from recurring.

Required Skills:(Quality Engineer)

•BS degree in Optics or related technical discipline and 3+ years of experience with optical or Laser related manufacturing process

•Comprehensive knowledge of optical component characteristics, and their applications in optical systems

•Knowledge of ISO9001 quality management systems and other relevant industry standards such as ISO10110/ MIL-PRF-13830B/ ISO21254.

•Experience in the use of optics inspection test equipment, both optical (power meters, PCI, spectrophotometer., etc.) and electrical (oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, etc.)

•Good at problem solving and be proficient in using various quality tools (for example: SPC, control plan, Gage R&R, FMEA, 8D)

•Excellent communication and teamwork capabilities, capable of communicating and cooperating effectively with cross-function teams to work together to solve quality issue and complete the continuous improvement project 

•Good English listening, speaking, reading and writing skills
