Your role
Reporting to the Associate Director for Optometry in the Instruments division,you will be involved in the design and evolution of EssilorLuxottica’s medical devices for vision screening, refraction and optometry.
You will work in close connection with Project Managers and Technical Product Managers, and your main responsibilities will include:
Contributing to the specification, feasibility assessment, architecture definition, integration and test of systems and sub-systems. Designing and prototyping optical functions and modules. Ensuring the consistency of the contribution of other experts (mechanics, electronics, software) to the overall performance of the products. Actively contributing to the integration and test of the modules and devices. Contributing to the development of knowledge and skills in their area of expertise.
The main deliverables associated with this position are the successful implementation of innovative solutions and technologies; the compliance of designs with specifications and generic performance expected from medical devices; the extensive documentation and reports on the design and tests; and communication and knowledge transfer to other departments and groups of specialists within the Instrument Division.
You will guarantee the quality and performance of functions and modules in your area of expertise, while complying with cost and schedule constraints. You will have a key coordination role to ensure the technical consistency of choices involving multiple technologies and will be instrumental for the integration and test of devices.

Educational background in Physics / Engineering with a major in Optics. At least 4 years of experience in optical design and optronics. Strong practical problem-solving orientation and skills Ability and taste for understanding multi-technology devices and problems Solid experience with Zemax Strong technical writing skills
