Responsibilities


1. Greets all patients with a smile and makes eye contact.
2. Personal recognition of patients need for eyewear & insurance coverage.
3. Identifies patient’s needs, explain all benefits, and offer products relative to their lifestyle, optical, and cosmetic needs.
4. Verifies patient's insurance, address, phone, eye care history, eligibility, and make changes as necessary.
5. Answers incoming phone calls. Provides friendly, accurate assistance to callers and takes messages as appropriate.
6. Educates each patient on available lens options and frames.
7. Consistently educates the patient of available eyewear & options to meet his/her individual needs.
8. Correctly measures pupillary distance, segment heights and all other optically related measurements.
9. Maintains a broad knowledge of products available.
10. Consistently meets the patient’s eyewear needs with minimal errors.
11. Accurately & timely orders all patient eyewear. All job orders are sent to lab same day order is placed.
12. Demonstrates the ability to correctly adjust and repair patient frames.
13. Notifies patients immediately when there is any delay with their order.
14. Accurately document all communications with patient by noting in patients file; including date and time along with a summary of the conversation.
15. Makes phone calls to ensure patients satisfaction.
16. Accurately checks in, tags, prices, and displays new merchandise.
17. Accurately return and track all defective frames for immediate credit.
18. Restocks supplies, frames and accessories as needed.
19. Accurately and timely completes all sales transaction. Performs daily cash procedures and close out.
20. Records cash, credit card, & checks on logs for daily deposits. Completes deposit slips and makes copies of all required items.
21. Performs all required scanning of paperwork into the correct drives no later than 9 am the following business day.
22. Covers any/all locations as needed.
23. Visits each office in territory as needed per direction from Optical Manager.
24. Works with Optical Manager and Optical Director as a liaison to communicate and update all
25. staff on departmental processes.
26. Schedules staff assignments for all locations and processes all time off requests for the opticians within territory.
27. Oversees transaction approvals for all optical locations,
28. Participates in on-going continuing education.
29. If licensed must maintain state licensing.
30. Encourages a team-oriented environment and follows company guidelines and policies.
31. Performs any and all duties as reasonably assigned.
   


Qualifications


High School Diploma or GED.

Experience:
Minimum of 2+ years’ experience working in the optical field. If certified maintain certification in ABO and NCLE.  If licensed maintain  State License.

Requirements:
 Working knowledge of inventory management, eyewear sales, and lens options. Ability to manage multiple  
 projects simultaneously. Personable; empathetic with patient’s and employee's needs and concerns. Well-  
 organized with attention to detail. Ability to work as a team member. Demonstrated computer literacy. Ability to 
 motivate and train a professional staff. Well educated with lens products and availability. Ability to show
 leadership and set an example.
