The Network Design Engineering team is part of the broader Optical Network Integration Teams that support the entire Americas region. We focus on designing and integrating optical transport networks, ensuring seamless deployment and operation of Nokia's optical products. Our team plays a crucial role in delivering high-speed internet services and enhancing network infrastructure for various customers.

Role Overview:

Join as a Optics Network Design Engineering Intern, where you'll thrive in a hybrid work environment that balances flexibility with collaboration. You'll engage with innovative technologies and work on designing optical transport networks that enhance high-speed internet services across the Americas. Your role will involve utilizing Nokia’s tools and collaborating closely with the Network Integration and New Product Introduction Teams, focusing on WDM and relevant programming languages like Python, Linux, and Java.

Education Recommendations: Been enrolled in 8th or 9th semester of undergraduate studies in Communication and Electronical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering for an accredited school in Mexico.

What is Nokia looking from me:

Technical skills in optics and telecommunications.Proficiency in programming languages like Python, Linux, and Java.Excellent command of English; additional languages are a plus.Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.Enthusiasm for learning and professional growth.

It would be nice if you also had:

Advanced Optical Network Configuration skills with a focus on WDM equipment.Strong documentation skills for creating comprehensive Method of Procedures and reports.Project management skills for overseeing and executing network design projects.Excellent interpersonal skills for effective collaboration in diverse teams.Knowledge of telecommunications industry trends and market insights.

 

As part of the team, you will have:

Support design activities utilizing Nokia's advanced optical network tools to optimize performance.Collaborate with Network Integration and New Product Introduction Teams to streamline project workflows.Configure and provision Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) equipment from the 1830 PSS family.Create and maintain Method of Procedures (MoPs) and documentation for daily engineering activities.Generate post-activity reports and provide MoPs for execution to ensure seamless operations.Participate in testing optical transport equipment to validate and enhance network effectiveness.Ensure accurate reflection of network status post-activities to maintain optimal service quality.
