Family Description

Customer Services (CS) covers customer service in different areas such as technical support, account support, operations, maintenance, network design / deployment / integration / transformation, and education. Generates revenue and the increase of customer satisfaction through planning, designing, deploying, integrating, optimising, operating, and maintaining phases.

Subfamily Description

NW Design & Optimisation (NWD) comprises the planning and / or managing the planning of communications networks for customers. Covers consultation of customers on communication network performance. Contains optimisation and / or managing of the optimisation of customer networks. Covers the execution of end-to-end design-related activities (address surveys, site surveys, design and as-built) for deployment projects.

Impact is short-term and usually departmental/project in scope. Accountable for quality, accuracy and efficiency of own and/or team achievements. Actions and errors can have program, project, functional impact.

Scope & Contribution

Individual Contributor: Performs and/or coordinates day-to-day activities to meet departmental/project objectives. Carries out root/cause analysis in more complex problems. Can develop and implement recommendations. Managerial/Supervisory: Direct supervisory responsibilities for people. Typically first level (and lowest level) of solid line management. Carries out variety of complex activities according to plan within broader area of responsibility, analyses problems. Decision-making typically according to established solutions.

Knowledge & Experience

Should have Expert Level Working knowledge of Optical products. 

Experience in NMS/EMS and on Optical Transmission equipment, preferably on Alcatel-lucent transport product line (DWDM/OTN-PSS) Experience in NMS installation, upgrade, migration, backup, restore, High Availability Experience in NE commissioning, upgrade, backup, restore, service migration, network integration and transformation  OS platform experience, Windows, Unix, Redhat Linux, Solaris, CentOS and database like SQL, Oracle Fault Management and Service creation experience on NMS & NE’s Hands on experience in planning tools, visio drawings  Capable to understand, simulate and troubleshoot customer deployments and optical networks Expertise in migration and transformation projects  Knowledge on microservices, dockers and messaging systems like Kafka  External authentication systems like LDAP, RADIUS, TACACs, AD Expertise in various Optical domains like DWDM, OTN; technologies like GMPLS/GMRE etc Experience in creating automation frameworks and scripting knowledge  Team player: Capable to work in a team in project environment; Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunications or related IT field 8-14 years’ experience in Transport networks The ability and willingness to travel as per project requirements High communication and presentation skills

Serve as an SME for NMS, Network Design, NE Integration, Network Transformation activities for Optical portfolio Extend and expand our automation delivery footprint Perform OS/NMS installations, upgrades and migration Perform NE commissioning, upgrades, backup & restore  Perform NE and network transformation Responsible for preparing Design documents HLD, LLD, DCN, Sync and design tools Develop MOP’s as per the requirement Define test cases based on customer specific scenarios and execute acceptance tests Support PM/TPM during project execution providing technical support as per SoW Support PLM during the offer phases to clarify the needs, assess feasibility and identify the related effort/ costs
