Job Description:
An RN circulator, or circulating nurse, plays a vital role in the operating room (OR) and is responsible for managing the overall nursing care within the OR to ensure a safe and efficient surgical environment.
Registered Nurse implements professional nursing practice centered on the patient as a whole person and the creation of a caring environment focused on healing and wellness. Nursing practices are based on evidence and current research as well as hospital and department policies and procedures, regulatory standards, and professional guidelines. Clinical decision-making incorporates all four phases of the nursing process, critical thinking, and creativity.
Assessment and identification of patient needs and implementation of appropriate interventions considering the needs of patient populations per department scope of service.Delegation of nursing care activities and provisions of supervision; establishes and maintains a plan for the delivery of nursing care; assures that nursing care interventions and activities are directed to resolve problems; and performs technical aspects of care competently.Has access to medication storage areas as required for job tasks. Follows Hospital and Departmental Policies and Procedures.Requirements:
Current RN licensure recognized by the Kentucky State Board of Nursing is required.Current RN licensure or temporary Kentucky work permitAssociate Degree in Nursing with a Bachelor’s Degree preferredCompletion and maintenance of BLS.ACLS & PALS (or ENPC) within 6 months of hire.NIHSS within 3 months of hire.Successful completion of all competencies as identified on the departmental nurse competency grid.Benefits:
